No Line on the Horizon

There are many things in life that bring me great joy, but only a select handful that can make me so happy that I cry. Let's see...I cry with happiness over presidential elections and my privilege to participate, I cry on Academy Awards day, I cry when I walk into Disneyland, I feel teary eyed when I see my niece, I get a little misty when I see a really beautiful historical site or a piece of art, I cry when I am moved by a film, and I cry when I go to a U2 concert. Yah I know it could be seen as lame or weak. But that is who I am, take it or leave it.
So having said all it may come as no suprise to hear that I am giddy like a school girl to hear where U2 is going on their next tour. The announcement is Monday and I expect all of you to send your positive energy Salt Lake City's way. And if you like U2 at all you should check out their new album. It took me a few listens from start to finish to really get into it, but it was worth it. The music is nicely layered. The songs slowly build into powerful melodies, so you have to work for it, but if you put in the time you will be rewarded. And there is plenty of homage to classic U2 sound for even the most hard core fan.

I'm glad you liked their new album. I have heard sort of mixed reviews on it. And I certainly hope they come near you in tour. That would be a tragedy if they didn't. Although I'm sure they'll go to LA, because everyone includes LA on their concert shcedule. So if they don't include SLC, I think you should fly to LA and attend that concert then go to Disneyland. That sounds like the perfect trip to me. :)

I'm sorry that I haven't stalked you in so long, but I loved each of these blog posts. I'm so sorry to hear how you obtained your delightful George W. bobblehead. What a lovely person he must be to give that to you at such a sad time! I hope he finds work soon. I miss you and hope that you are well. I am fine, a little hermitish, and often grumpy about politics and the economy. But still good. We must have you over for dinner sometime! Lots of love!

I need to check out their new CD. I have heard a couple songs on 101.9 The End but have not ventured past the radio realm.
Thanks for the review.

P.S. I don't think you are weak.
