Ok, ok, ok, I know that some of you top ten purists (you know who you are) are 'disappointed' that I did not man-up and restrict my list to just ten films, and perhaps you even think it is girly of me to have honorable mentions. But geez, it was a good year for film, and in any other year those movies may have made my top ten. And yes it's true that I am girly enough that I am happy no matter who wins the Super Bowl and man enough to admit it. So there.

Excellence in Acting (that was nominated for an Academy Award)

Marion Cotillard – La Vie en Rose
Johnny Depp – Sweeney Todd
Hal Holbrook - Into the Wild
Javier Bardem - No Country for Old Men

Excellence in Acting (that was NOT nominated for an Academy Award - AKA the big Shaft)

Amy Adams – Enchanted
Josh Brolin – No Country for Old Men
Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, and Ben Foster – 3:10 to Yuma
Steve Zahn – Rescue Dawn
Ryan Gosling – Lars and the Real Girl
James Mcavoy – Atonement

Maybe I shouldn't admit this but the only movie on your list that I have seen is Ratatouille. I guess I need to go to the video store sometime in the near future.

So, I tried to preview a very long comment (which included an unqualified, but admirably passionate Sweeney rant), and it was lost forever in cyberspace errors. I guess it was just not meant to be.

I'll just say that I love you and your blog (though you more than your blog), and I can't wait to see you again and share traveling stories.

Lots of love!

Okay, so now you're keeping your blogolicious self away! What? Is work that crazy busy, or are you enjoying your trip too much to visit those of us who feed on your wit!?

Anyway, I miss you and I just wanted to add that I agree with you on the yumminess of Javier Bardem. I've only seen him in The Sea Inside, which I loved, and I thought he was just amazing to watch (in a couple of ways).

Toodles!

I have seen four of the movies on your top ten list. Not bad. only one for the worst movies, which is also, not bad.
