No, we aren’t going to talk about Presidential politics, Pakistani assassinations, mine tragedies, mall tragedies, bridge tragedies, or tiger attacks. But more importantly we are going to talk about Princess Heather’s year in review, because I am Princess Heather and it’s my Blog. So, let's journey together through Princess Heather's 2007 shall we?

Beware! Venting about to take place - Let’s break this one down a little because I have heard your rumblings about this hobby of mine and it has not gone unnoticed. 82 films at an average of 2 hours per film is 164 hours. 164 hours of film is 9840 minutes of viewing pleasure. At 525,600 minutes a year (thank you 'Rent'), 9840 minutes is less than 2 percent of my total time during a year. Not bad if you think about it, and far less time spent at a hobby than most people spend at their hobbies. Now let’s talk money. I see most films at matinee price, and as you can see I see several for free. So to be fair let’s average the price of a matinee and a full price ticket and say that each movie I see costs $7. So if I saw 66 (82 minus the 16 I saw for free) movies last year at $7 a piece I spent $462 dollars total. Also, not bad, considering some people’s hobbies costs into the thousands, right? Why I know of a person who spent at least this much money to buy an item for a vehicle that they never drive. What’s that you say? What about treats? Well I don’t buy treats at the movie all that often, so it’s a non issue. I say in the spirit of camaraderie and world peace, let’s all get off my back about my movie watching hobby. I think it’s obvious that it’s not the only thing I do with my time as evidenced by the other activities listed in this Blog, so can’t we all just get along and you worry about what you do with your time and let me worry about mine?

In 2008 I resolve to read more and watch TV less. Exercise more and sit on me bum less. See more film. Continue to magnify my calling. Write more letters to people I love. Spend less time worrying about what people think. Spend more time worrying about what Heavenly Father thinks. Spend less time worrying about making sure people at work are all happy, and more time getting crap done. Give more of my money and time to worthy causes. Spend less time being angry about things beyond my control. Be more organized. Save more. Have integrity. Be positive. And most importantly I resolve to continue being awesome.

You are totally awesome!
I just sent you an email. I thought you were doing a movie review blog for 2007, not a year in review of Princess Heather's life. This was totally exciting for me to read.
I'm glad your home now after your cancelled flight although I miss you!
Have a great New Year's Day.
Love, Melissa
PS In case you haven't read your email yet, Delaney is clomping around in her wooden shoes today.
I forgot to mention that Delaney is super sad to see that Hello Kitty has been removed from your blog!
I agree that you are totally awesome, and, my dear, while I totally enjoyed your rant on defending your film hobby (I love your rants - I get to experience so few that I feel a little deprived), I think it's a lovely hobby (and so well managed financially). :) You are delightful!
Speaking of film, I would love to rant to/with you about one of the few films I actually saw in a theatre and would give back at any price - "I Am Legend." I will not rant here, however. I would rather rant with you and hear your opinion. I'll only say that the dreams I had that night about a vampire infested world (who only had to touch you to make you a vampire) was just lovely compared to experience of watching this film. I'd rather read The Stand, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and Pig Farm in one sitting before I ever watch a film like that again.
Okey dokey, love! Happy New Year, lady, and I'm so sorry you had to deal with a cancelled flight, but I look forward to hearing the story.
So, I was checking your blog for new entries, and I have a weird habit of reading all of the old comments, including my own. I had to chuckle in embarassment that I called Animal Farm "Pig Farm." Oh well, that's what I get for ranting on someone else's blog.
Love ya, Lady!
I love comments!!
Melissa, my movie blog is still coming, but I need to see a few more films that I think may make my top ten. And they didn't come out in Utah until recently. They still count for last year though because they opened in LA and New York in December. Let Delaney know that I will work on some sort of Helly Kitty surprise. But I am kind of a dork when it comes to web stuff so it may take me a while.
Dianna Lamb, I was disappointed in I Am Legend so I am interested in hearing your perspective. My cancelled flight this christmas was due to a bird hitting my plane and causing a massive hole. This was before I got on it though, so there is always that to be grateful for. And I knew you meant Animal Farm. :)
I admit I also check your blog for new entries and end up re-reading all the comments I have written. Maybe I need to find a hobby other than checking your blog for new entries!
I think you should write a new blog entry so that I can have something entertaining to read today other than reading the same 3 books to Delaney all day long.
Miss Heather, I got a lot of giggles out of this list. It was fun to remember. And I'm glad the ornery, overweight, underdressed, snarky prostitute got the recognition she deserved. (Is it redundant to say "underdressed" AND "prostitute"??) ("snarky prostitute" might be a good band name... hmmm...)
I also miss your rants, stories or just talks. :(
Thanks for still entertaining your friends!
