I don't think that means what you think it means...

So...I saw this sign in the forest and thought to myself, 'hmm...those Dutch, they are nice to be so thoughtful and caring towards their wild roosters'. So enamored with the wild roosters was I, that I kept looking for them around every bend in the forest.

I thought perhaps they would look sort of like this, but more ferocious or something.

Much to my dismay and chagrin I have come to find out that 'PAS OP! WILDROOSTER' means beware of cattle guard or some such nonsense. And I was so looking forward to capturing a picture of the elusive wild Dutch Rooster.
On a happier and less embarrassing note, here is a lovely picture of the Saturday morning market in Apeldoorn. This of all the sites I have seen in this country has made me nostalgic for Switzerland. Ahh...fresh baked European bread. Yummers!

And finally, guess how fast I drove on the Autobahn? 170 KM/HR - that's right baby! That's like 105 miles per hour, which I think is pretty fast, especially in a Volkswagen Golf. I was being passed like I was standing still, but I am still delighted that I drove on the Autobahn and all the way to Dusseldorf, Germany by myself. (well..there were others, but their involvement was negligible.)

The last two pictures are of the Rhine Tower in Dusseldorf. It's pretty high and I was pretty nervous to be up there, but after a while it was ok. We had lunch at the top in a restaurant that spins. Pretty cool.

Okay, I almost peed over the wild rooster story.

The bread looks good, but makes me a little queasy if I think about it too much. (You are cordially invited to come to my blog when time permits).

On the queasy note, I would usually envy the traveling very high up and dining in a spinning restaurant at the top; but not so much today. Nor do I envy the autoban trip, but I'm THOROUGHLY impressed!! (And we're all SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO grateful that you survived, little lamb!)

Thanks for all of the updates, and please keep them coming...

I so enjoyed the llama photos and your charming personality that I had to come back to this very special blog entry. During that month, I think I told at least 50 people about my wonderful friend and her delightful blog with a story about "wild roosters." I particularly enjoy the line "those Dutch...they are nice to be so thoughtful and caring about their wild roosters." :) And, of course, the photo of the rooster is perfect. So, just call me Luna as I continue to giggle my head off at this lovely story.

And again, I'm so relieved that you didn't die on the Autobahn. I wouldn't even try. Or then again, maybe I would, because as you know I don't like feeling helpless and would be yelling at the driver the whole time or something...
