Public Service Announcement

I really don't mean to be indelicate, but I am constantly amazed at how often I see toilet lids in the up position.

When this happens at my house, I freak out.   Mostly in my head, but sometimes aloud as well.   I am a bit freakish about stuff like that...OCD if you will.   Not so OCD that I can't leave my house or function as an adult, but enough OCD to be an annoyance to those around me and even to myself.   When I travel, and that is anywhere that isn't my own home,  I have to practice alot of zen like breathing and super human reserves of patience.  When all else fails there is always Xanax.   I bet you think I am kidding...I am not.

Anyhoo, what I want to say in this public service announcement is this...put the lids down on your toilet.   If not in your own home, please for the love of pete, at least attempt to do so in mine.   We will all be much happier.   You, because I wont become a raging lunatic with my Lysol can spraying about, and me, see above.

Lots of love!  Heather

"A 2012 study in the Journal of Hospital Infection looked at what happened when toilets at a hospital were flushed with the lid open. Traces of Clostridium difficile, a bacteria that lives in feces and causes severe diarrhea, were found floating above the toilet. These microbes can stay up in the air, or settle on nearby surfaces, including your counter or your toothbrush"

Ha! I read an article about how you should put your toilet lids down before flushing because flushing can send bacteria all over the room and it freaked me out. I guess I'm a little OCD too! Plus when our toilet lids get left up, our dog will drink out of the toilet. Which is an entirely other gross scenario. :(
