Today I am grateful for electricity, which is kind of funny, because I spent most of the day grousing about how high my electric bill was for this past month. But then I had a chance to speak to a friend of mine who lives in New Jersey, who has been without power since Monday night, and I realized that it is very easy to take such things for granted. Here I am in my warm house, with abundant hot water supplies, the ability to cook nutritious food, the choice to watch America's Next Top Model on the TV, all while typing on my laptop, and charging my iPod and cell phone. While at the same time so many people are doing without right now, and although I am grateful for my comfort, I do pray for my friends on the East coast and hope for a speedy recovery.
