Hi, I am not sure that I will have time to post much while I am over here. But here is a picture of the hotel we stay in when we come to Apeldoorn. In 1689, the Tsar Peter the Great visited the Inn, and ever since then there has been an Inn or Hotel on this spot. De Keizerskroon means Kasiers Crown in English, so the hotel gets it name from that long ago visit by Russian royalty.
The Hotel has one other tie to royalty. It is literally next door to the Palais Het Loo. Which is a palace that was owned by the Dutch Royal family for hundreds of years. The current Queen's (Beatrix) great grandmother Queen Wilhelmina was the last Dutch regent to use Het Loo as a residence, after which it was turned into a state museum.
As a matter of fact, I think I will take a walk around Het Loo's gardens during my lunch break.
