Princess Pet Peeve # 3

On my way to work today I stopped by McDonalds's to get a breakfast sandwich, something I rarely do, but when I do I have exacting requirements on how my sandwich should be made.

Specifically, no pig meat!

I don't know why or when I became a 'porkatarian' but it's true I don't enjoy the flesh of a pig. It's not a religious thing obviously, I just don't like it.

Anyhoo, I go through my normal pains of ordering an "egg and cheese" sandwich, which usually includes some 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' like protestations of "What? No Meat?" before they actually place the order. And inevitably when I get to the window they hand me a Sausage biscuit. Eek! Now on a pork meat scale of yumminess sausage is an all time low for me. So I hand it back and say that's not what I ordered. They then proceed to slap some egg and cold cheese on the very biscuit that they just gave me and hand it back. You may wonder how I knew it was the same biscuit, well I will tell you, because they left bits of sausage residue and flavor behind. I am sorry, but ick.

Lessons learned - just eat breakfast at home or starve.

Disclaimer: I love McDonalds and Babe the Pig.

Those shady people at McDonald's.

Did you know that Chris orders a burrito with no refried beans? Talk about people looking at you weird when you order. He just wants meat, cheese, etc. in the burrito. He claims that beans take away from the flavor of everything else like the carne asada. He even goes as far to claim that true Mexican people don't eat their burritos with beans and that they eat the beans on the side. I didn't mean for this to get so long winded but I'm pretty passionate about my bean burritos and I think he's a weirdo.

PS I was just looking thru all my recipes that I need to send you for the cookbook you plan on making and I had no idea how many of my recipes contain pork products (bacon, sausage, etc.). I have feeling you won't be trying many of my recipes. hehehe

Hee hee...I love sausage. I refuse to think about how it is made and the actual contents, but I think its delicious. Guess we'll have to stick to dining together in the evening!

Melissa,
Poor Chris would probably hate to eat at a Mexican place with me, as I was raised on Taco Bell and I don't think that counts as authentic. But I could be wrong. :)

Joanna,

We need to have Bombay House soon. I still need to give you the Che item I got for you in Amsterdam.

I adore sausage, and yet what they gave you sounded horribly disgusting.

I'm sure I've mentioned this in the past, but MacDonalds in this state really stinks. Back east and, as you know, in other countries, they still actually try to make the food clean, hot, and tasting okay. I had a chicken sandwiches from MacDo's in Provo that was almost frozen in the middle. Talk about disgusting!

Love ya!
