Leatherheads
I don’t know if 2 or 3 movies qualifies as a Hollywood trend, but it seems like I have seen 2 or 3 movies lately that are delightfully reminiscent of the Hollywood of yore. Back when actors were on contract, the humor was slapstick, the chemistry was palpable, and the one liners were dangled about like little lost participles. (P.S.A. - Dangling participles are a serious matter folks.) Anyhoo, I digress, ‘Leatherheads’ is one such movie. It is the story of professional Football in its earliest stages, before there were rules, or ‘effective’ plays, or money to buy a new football when your only one is stolen. Back when you were paid extra if you lost a tooth. Before end zone grand standing, and overpriced buffoons that somehow think they are God’s gift to humanity because they can chase a little pigskin around a field for a few hours. (They aren’t made of pigskin anymore are they?) ‘Leatherheads’ is a fun spring time movie. There are some laugh out loud moments as well, particularly one part of the movie that is very Keystone Cop-ish.
If you are looking for some light hearted fair, I think ‘Leatherheads’ may be a good choice for you. It is rated PG-13 for mild profanity and probably some thematic elements involving liquor consumption during a prohibition era America, however, I felt like it could have been rated PG. I give this movie a B-.

Hmmm...this movie does look kind of interesting to me. But then again I never see movies until they have been out on for video for like 2 years already, so I'm no help when it comes to commenting on your movies reviews.
I've wanted to see it just because those helmets/hats/whatever-that-thing-is-covering-their-heads are so darned cute! I'm glad to hear that you liked it!
Thanks for Princess blog fix! :)
